Natural Gas Social Bonus, what is it?

The Natural Gas Social Bonus is a discount applied to the bill for the domestic supply of natural gas and is recognized to households that meet certain economic requirements verified through the ISEE certificate.

Requirements

All domestic customers holding a natural gas supply contract belonging to a family unit with the following requirements can obtain the Natural Gas Social Bonus:

  • ISEE indicator not exceeding 8,265 euros,
  • ISEE indicator not exceeding 20,000 euros when there are more than 4 dependent children.

The so-called “indirect” customers can also apply for the Natural Gas Social Bonus, ie customers who are not directly holders of a supply contract, but who use a condominium-type plant for domestic purposes (centralized supply).

The bonus can be applied in two ways: directly in the form of a discount on the gas bill, or, if you are an indirect customer, by issuing a domiciled bank transfer (so in this second case it is a refund rather than a a discount already applied on the rate).

Natural Gas Social Bonus: how to get it?

To obtain the Natural Gas Social Bonus, the following documentation must be submitted:

  • identity document,
  • valid ISEE certificate.

From 1 January 2021 it is no longer necessary to submit the specific application for the purposes of the Gas Bonus; therefore, only the presence of the valid ISEE certificate will suffice, following which the bonus will be automatically recognized in the bill by the company providing the service.

The bonus lasts for 1 year.
