Requirements
The following must submit the RED Form to INPS:
• pensioners who have no income other than retirement income (their own and, if applicable, their family members) if their income situation has changed from that declared the previous year,
• holders of income-related services that do not fully disclose all their income to the financial administration because some cannot be declared on the tax return (Model 730 or Income Model), for example employee work performed abroad, bank, postal, bank and bank interests BOTs, CCTs and other government bonds or proceeds from investment shares, subject to withholding tax at source as a tax or in lieu of personal income tax,
• those who are exempted from the obligation to submit their income tax return to the Revenue Agency, but who are in possession of income other than retirement income, for example those who have retirement income plus the income from their main residence,
• holders of certain types of income relevant for social security purposes and who declare themselves differently for tax purposes to the Revenue Agency, such as income deriving from coordinated and continuous collaboration or similar and self-employment, even occasional.
Who shouldn’t present it?
Italian residents who are beneficiaries of income-related benefits who have already fully declared to the Revenue Agency (via Model 730 or Income Model) do not have to submit the RED Model all their income, and, if applicable, also those of family members, who they are relevant for the purposes of income support benefits.
By when ?
The RED Model for retirees must be submitted by March 31 of the second year following the year to which the income refers (it is always the INPS which, year by year, defines the submission deadline). For example, for the RED 2019 campaign, referring to 2018 income, the deadline for delivery of the model will expire on March 31, 2020.
