Unemployment / NASPI, what is it?

The New Social Insurance Benefit for Employment (NASpI) is a monthly unemployment benefit with the function of providing income aid to employees with an employment relationship who have involuntarily lost their employment. NASpI replaces the unemployment benefits ASpI and mini ASpI with reference to the unemployment events that occurred from 1 May 2015

 

Requirements

 

NASpI is recognized for workers who have involuntarily lost their jobs and who jointly present the following requirements:

  • are in a state of unemployment,
  • can claim, in the four years preceding the start of the unemployment period, at least thirteen weeks of contributions against unemployment,
  • can claim thirty days of actual work, regardless of the minimum contribution, in the twelve months preceding the start of the unemployment period.

Employees are recipients of the service including:

  • apprentices,
  • working members of cooperatives who have established, with their membership or after the establishment of the associative relationship, an employment relationship in a subordinate form, pursuant to art. 1, paragraph 3 of Law no. 142/2001,
  • artistic personnel with a subordinate employment relationship.
